Fig Mint Restaurant & Lounge
When we first arrived, we were wowed by the modern spaces, nice lines, great open spaces, with large windows. Very nice furnishings. Menu looks very appetizing.
The blinds were up as it was a nice sunny day, and unfortunately, one could see all the orange pylons, and other busy and not so pretty activity just outside. I could not feel very relaxed with cars rushing past just outside. I would have preferred some kind of shade, blinds, frosted decorative glass so that my eyes would look up, and I would have a nice view of the trees and mountains, but not of the road.
There was a spotted prawn brunch going on this weekend, with their chef creating 9 menu items. I had the crepe, and my partner had the poached egg. Both dishes were very nicely presented, and the cooking was superb.
My meal consisted of a large crepe rolled up, thick enough to contain many ingredients but not too thick, a little crispy on the edge. It had melted cheese on top garnished with watercress and small sprinklings of scrambled egg. There was a thick creamy sauce that was full of flavor, maybe a touch too strong, but still very enjoyable.
The other meal consisted of a poached egg on light bread, on top of stir fried potatoes with peas and jumbled prawns thrown in. I preferred the taste of this dish. The taste of broth and butter highlighted the flavor of the spotted prawns, very well.
